At Little Nomad, we are dedicated to supporting Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and their globally mobile families to help them navigate the unique challenges that come with their lifestyle. We strive to empower families to thrive in their unique circumstances and create a sense of belonging and connection, no matter where their journey takes them. Let's empower our young global citizens!
Our founder, Jelske Goris, is currently raising her own three children in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and understands firsthand the importance of providing support and guidance to globally mobile families. Her passion lies in helping TCKs navigate issues related to identity, belonging, unresolved grief, and emotional well-being, acknowledging the challenges and experiences that come with the complexities of cross-cultural living.
"A Third Culture Kid (TCK) is a person who spends a significant part of his or her first eighteen years of life accompanying parent(s) into a country or countries that are different from at least one parent's passport country due to a parent's choice of work or advanced training. The TCK builds relationships to all cultures, while not having ownership in any. Although elements from each culture are assimilated into the TCK's life experience, the sense of belonging is in relationship to others of the same background." (Pollock and Van Reken, 2017)
